Titus 1-3
Verse of note:
For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:…who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.
Verse of note:
Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith; Not giving heed to Yahudic fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the Truth. Unto the pure, all things are pure: but unto those who are defiled, and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. They profess that they know Elohiym; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work, reprobate.
Verse of note:
That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience. The aged women likewise, that they be in behavior as is becoming holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their men, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own men, that the Word of Elohiym be not blasphemed. Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
Verse of note:
A man that is a heretic after the first and second admonition reject; Knowing that he that is such is subverted,
emphasis mine
I love this so much. Thoughts: “Unto the pure all things are pure”: externally: ie. guileless, a sheep without it’s shepherd, “naive”, doesn’t see bad intentions, has a hard time imagining evil as a concrete concept (the word evil and the way it’s used lends itself to abstraction), which is part of the reason why you need the Father (Holy Spirit), discernment, and wisdom.
internally: when pure all things are pure, because you’re intentions are pure. You only want what the Father wants, you only do what the Father commands. Your “purity” does not make pork pure to eat, when Father has pronounced it unclean (He does not change). This is the opposite of purity, this is disobedience. Your purity keeps you from eating it because Father commands against it. Again everything is pure for you because you only do what Father commands and what Father tells you to do.
On the opposite side: “But unto those who are defiled, and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.” Absolutely nothing is pure to them: not God, not family, not friends, not love, not the truth, not honesty, not life. Something to think about when dealing with, talking to, and/or working with people who are unrepentant and/or unbelieving, and definitely not someone you want to take advice from.
